Dear Graduates,

Your hard work, dedication, and passion have led you to this incredible milestone, and we couldn’t be prouder! As you prepare to celebrate this amazing achievement, please review the important details below to ensure a smooth and memorable graduation experience.

College Honors Recognition Ceremony

This ceremony is for College Honors and College Scholars students participating in Honors Programs. It is separate from the UCLA College of Letters and Science Commencement Ceremony, which is open to all graduating seniors.

Ceremony Details
Date: Thursday, June 11, 2026
Time: Ceremony begins at 7:30 PM (graduate check-in at 6:30 PM)
Location: Royce Hall West Lobby and Patio

Student Assembly Information

- Assembly Time: 6:15 PM – 7:15 PM
- Come dressed in your cap and gown (don’t forget bobby pins to secure your cap!).
- Entry for graduates is through the Royce Hall West Lobby. Family and guests must enter through the main entrance.

Check-In Details

- You will receive your Honors cord and a name card at check-in.
- Pencils will be available to write phonetic spelling and contact information for photo access.
- Around 7:00 PM, graduates will line up and prepare to walk the stage. Keep your name card handy!

Not Attending?

Students who have their candidacy approved, but cannot attend the ceremony may pick up their Honors cord at the Honors Program Office (A311 Murphy Hall) the week of Commencement, beginning June 9, during in-person office hours. Bruin card and advanced sign-up will be required.

Reminders

Required Forms
Graduating Honors students must submit the College Honors Candidacy Form to:

- Order commencement tickets
- Receive the “College Honors” notation on their diploma & transcript

Deadline

- By Week 1 of your graduation quarter (students who missed the deadline for this Spring may still submit)
- Summer graduates: Submit by Week 1 of Spring Quarter

Reminders

- Check MyUCLA regularly for Commencement updates
- Review privacy settings to ensure your name appears in the Commencement program
- Graduating Honors students must also ensure that their Experiential Engagements and Capstone projects have been approved by petition. Note: Transfer students who were admitted in 23F do not have Experiential Engagement nor Capstone requirements. Please check your Honors Progress page to verify.

Tickets

Tickets
Each College Honors graduate is guaranteed one student ticket and two guest tickets.

Tickets are available through the graduating students ordering tickets for themselves and their guests. Ticket distribution will be managed through the MyUCLA Commencement Feature in early May 2026.

Honors Ticket Ordering
Ticket ordering will take place through the MyUCLA Ticketing system. For the Honors ceremony specifically, the specific time window to order your tickets will be:

Friday, May 8 at 12:00 PM (Pacific Time)
through
Friday, May 22 at 11:59 PM (Pacific Time)

Additional Guest Tickets
We would love for your family and friends to celebrate this milestone with you! While initial guest ticket quantities are limited, we typically offer opportunities to request additional tickets as space allows.

Information about requesting additional tickets—including how to join a waitlist or submit a request—will be posted here in early May.

Accessibility and Assistance

For any guests seeking ADA accommodations, please approach Royce Hall via the western portico and speak to usher staff located at the front of the building. Early arrivals will be placed in a priority entry line with one companion and granted priority access to seating. Guests arriving after doors open will still be assisted by staff to the seating that best fits their needs.

Safety Guidelines 2025

To ensure a safe and smooth-running ceremony for all, Royce Hall will be implementing the following measures:

- A tiered response centering a de-escalatory approach for various types of event disruptions
- Increased in-house security staffing
- UCPD / CSO presence
- Tickets required for all participating guests and graduates
- Graduate robe checks upon ticket scanning
- Bag checks for guests, graduates, and faculty. Please review more detail on the clear bag only policy.
  - Clear bags or coin purses ONLY allowed
  - Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12”W x 12”H x 6”D.
  - One gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  - Small clutch bag 4.5” x 6/5”, with or without a handle or strap. This can be carried separately or within a plastic bag
  - Diaper bags – infant for which bag is carried must be present

Prohibited Items

UCLA encourages guests and graduates to consider sustainable alternatives to traditional and environmentally impactful items such as balloons. Please note, Royce hall does not permit the following inside the venue.
