Art, Entertainment, and Social Change
Enrollment: Open to College Honors/College Scholars students
Course Description: Integrative examination of the evolving impact of the arts and entertainment industry on various aspects of society, including politics, self-concept, and experience of everyday life, among others.
Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Anderson has a Ph.D. in Sociology from UCLA, and B.A degrees in Sociology, Psychology, & Philosophy. She teaches in-person and online in a diverse range of topics for both the Department of Sociology and the Honors Collegium, and loves her dogs more than just about anything.

I love to learn from my students.
What do you find to be the most compelling about the subject matter of this seminar?
Art is a major force that moves social change; it’s rewarding to explore this together with a class.
What are the learning objectives for this course?
For students to develop a strong creative understanding of the relationship between art, entertainment, & social change, and learn to discern the presence and effect of course topics in their own everyday lives.
