Mark Santos, Manager for Administrative & Student Services, passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 18. For over 25 years, Mark was a central figure in Honors Programs, playing a pivotal role in both routine tasks and major initiatives. His global perspective, shaped by living, studying, and working in the Philippines, the US, Asia, and Europe, enriched his work within Honors. Mark dedicated himself to fostering a welcoming environment for everyone, ensuring the success of our students and the smooth operation of both everyday tasks and major events.

Mark’s passion for travel, his interest in aeronautics, and his generous nature were central to his character. Behind the scenes, he played a key role in the success of large-scale events such as Commencement and Bruin/Transfer Bruin Day, while also ensuring the daily operational needs of the office and the curriculum were met. His work contributed to making the Honors Programs office feel like home, and his unwavering generosity in making sure everyone was taken care of will be sorely missed.

We remain committed to continuing the work that Mark valued so deeply, and we will move forward in a way that we trust would make him proud.
