I was born in El Paso, TX but raised in Compton, CA. Graduated UCLA with a BA in American Literature and Culture, and minors in Chicana/o Studiesd and American-Indian Studies. I have a MA in Counseling from LMU. I did Teach for America and taught High School English. I love to write, cook, smoke meat on my BBQ and I love sports. I also just started roller skating with my daughters.

My counseling philosophy – I pride myself on being student-centered. I strive to be an advocate and supportive in the counseling I provide. I am here to help students navigate the university and work with them in creating and accomplishing personal and academic goals. I want to help them think critically about options, adapt when needed, and to always be the encouraging coach in their corner.

What I enjoy most about my work- I get to meet amazing people every year and I get the honor of helping them reach their goals. Goals that have been there since they were young and some goals they didn’t think possible. To help someone reach a personal mountaintop is priceless and I’m just grateful to be along for the ride.
